"Closed" Blogging

Some of you have asked about creating a "closed" classroom blog so that only the students in your class can see and post on it. I have two solutions for you.

1.) Google Classrom feature:

2. Blogger feature:
By default, your blog is public, and can be read by anyone on the web. To change who can see your blog:
  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Select the blog to update.
  3. In the left menu, click Settings > Basic > Permissions.
  4. In the "Blog Readers" section, click Edit.
  5. Select “Anybody,” “Only blog authors,” or “Only these readers.
  6. Click Save changes.
You can control who can edit your blog, and who can read it.
Let others edit your blog
  1. Sign in to Blogger.
  2. Select the blog to update.
  3. In the left menu, click Settings > Basic > Permissions.
  4. In the "Blog Authors" section, click +Add Authors.
  5. Enter the email address of the person you want to add.
  6. Click Invite Authors.
After they accept the invitation, they'll be listed as an author. You can add up to 100 total members (authors, administrators, or readers) to your blog.
Note: To manage and post to blogs, invited authors or administrators will need a Google Account.
Give a team member access:

Author:

  • Add and edit their own posts

Administrator:

  • Add or remove other administrators and authors
  • Change the blog's settings or template
  • Edit or delete any posts
Blogs must have at least one administrator.
If you want to make someone an administrator, go to the menu next to their name and select Admin.
Note: If you make someone an administrator, you give them the right to remove you from your blog.
