ALERT: Chrome Update!

Image
Starting first thing Friday (tomorrow) morning, we will be updating Chrome on ALL desktops and laptops. Chrome will attempt to install on startup. However, you could see a pop-up message- please be sure to read the message! The box will automatically disappear and the install will begin after 5 minutes. IF you click OK, the install will begin immediately. If you are logged into the computer, the "postpone" option will appear. By clicking the postpone option, it will "cancel" the update until the next Group Policy Update (GPU). GPU happens during every login and every subsequent 30 minutes. We apologize for the short notice, but Chrome only supports one version back of their current browser and we want to make sure ALL testing is not impacted by this change. Thanks for your understanding.

PowerSchool Using Two Active Windows

Image
It's worth a try..... To help with the issue of having to close all tabs and the browser when kicked out of or signing out from PowerSchool, it is suggested that 2 separate Chrome browsers be opened so that you do not need to close active tabs you may be using for teaching. Below, you will find step be step instructions on how to complete this task. Open Google Chrome however you normally would.  Through task bar Through Start Menu (Start>All Programs>Teachers Menu>Google Chrome) After you have one Chrome open, you will have to open the next one by going through the start menu Start>All Programs>Teachers Menu>Google Chrome  Use one browser for teaching and one for Power School.

A RESTART will NOT resolve the issue-you must SHUT DOWN.  Afterwards, you may POWER ON your device and log in to ensure that Chrome was installed by launching it. If you still receive the error message, please submit an  IT DIRECT  ticket under IT Direct (note the #252107268; make sure you are on the IT tab at the top; submittal password is password). Please note, you may have the Chrome icon in your TASKBAR.
